The most common foot pain is one associated with the plantar fascia which is a thin ligament that links the heel to the front of the foot and the condition that causes this pain is called plantar fasciitis.
What causes this condition include excessive weight gain and constant movement and it us quite common in pregnant women and athletes.
The constant movement and weight gain can lead to inflammation and subsequently pain.

You should combine both stretching and relaxation techniques to help loosen your tight muscles which worsen the condition.
Try Seated Exercises
This form of exercise is good for people suffering this condition and it can be done quite easily.
  • You should roll your foot over a tennis ball or water bottle for about 60 seconds per foot.
  • Next you should cross one leg over your other leg, then pull your big toe upwards.
  • Keep this posture for approximately 14 seconds, then release and try it once more for three consecutive times.
  • Then switch to your other foot.
  • You should use a folded towel which you use just like an exercise strap.
  • Place the towel under the arch of your foot, then stretch your foot in front of you by pulling upwards on the towel.
  • Keep this posture steady for about 30 seconds.
  • Try it out for three consecutive times.
The Calf Stretching Exercises
You can also help combat this condition by stretching your calf muscles.
  • Extend your leg in a lunge-like motion.
  • Keep this posture steady for about 30 seconds.
  • Try it out again for three consecutive times for either leg.
How To Prevent Plantar Fasciitis
  • Stretching helps to prevent as well as treat this condition.
  • Ensure that you keep a healthy weight, to make sure you are not exerting undue pressure on your feet as well as body.
  • Regular exercises, this will keep you fit and healthy, you will also maintain a good weight and your joints and muscles will be stretched and will prevent the tightening of the ligaments in your feet.
  • Wear the right foot wear, you need to avoid wearing uncomfortable foot wear that will add undue pressure to your feet. Walking about barefoot can also put pressure on your feet.
  • Try to relax, make sure to avoid putting undue pressure on your feet allow your feet to rest, don’t over exert yourself when exercising.
  • Always warm up, when exercising always make sure to warm up first, start slow then gradually pick up pace with your exercises.
